theory forum

The following links to the theory pages are meant to provide you with our personal viewpoints about process work theory in general, and special areas in particular. They are unavoidably one-sided, barely touching the surface, and meant to stimulate your own thinking and to assist you in deciding if you want to research this further. If you find that you do, please look for a thorough overview of current process work thinking in numerous books and tapes on the various topics, and websites and training programs that are offered worldwide.

Processwork theory has been developed by Arnold and Amy Mindell and their associates. As you read, you will discover that one of the concepts, deep democracy, suggests that the process of developing a theory is itself a group process, with room for many diverse viewpoints. Many processworkers will hold diverse viewpoints about the content that you find in our pages. If you follow the various links in this site, you will eventually find a more balanced and therefore more accurate depiction of Processwork.

There is so much to say about all of these areas, but we want to put out what we have for now…check in again later to see the updates. Please email us at ellen@eminee.net or max@eminee.net with suggestions, corrections, ideas and other feedback. Thanks!

Worldwork is the branch of Processwork which deals with large group/organizational and sociological transformation from an awareness viewpoint. The two of us have a separate website for that area– www.maxfacilitation.net. Although the theories of Processwork and Worldwork form a cohesive matrix, the applications of the two fields are partly interesting to different groups, therefore the two websites.
